Memi TSEKOURA
Memi Tsekoura is the President of the Board of Directors of the Greek Patients’ Association and President of the “Butterfly” Bone Health Society. She brings over 30 years of experience in the healthcare sector, with a strong focus on patient support and advocacy.
She began her involvement in patient organizations through the Greek Association for the Support of Patients with Osteoporosis, initially serving as a Board Member. Since 2002, she has been leading the “Butterfly” Bone Health Society, contributing significantly to the support of patients with chronic musculoskeletal conditions.
Through her work, she has strengthened collaboration between the scientific community and patient groups, implementing impactful programs that promote awareness, prevention, and care. She has also held leadership roles within social organizations at both primary and secondary levels of local government.
Under her leadership, the “Butterfly” Bone Health Society became a member of the International Osteoporosis Foundation and the Greek Rare Diseases Association. The organization has received international recognition, earning top global awards for its initiatives and patient support services.
She has overseen important scientific and epidemiological studies, including the development of Greece’s national osteoporosis map, while also contributing to EU-funded programs and international scientific publications.
