Dr Athanasios GRAMMENOS
Athanasios Grammenos (Ph.D.) is the Executive Director of the Council for International Relations–Greece (CfIR) and an adjunct lecturer at Aristotle University’s Theology Department. His research explores the intersection of geopolitics, ethnicity, religion, and foreign policy. He is a past Library Fellow at Sacramento State University and a NATO scholarship recipient from the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He has extensive experience as an advisor in politics, business, and think tanks. He earned his Ph.D. in International Relations from the University of Macedonia, Department of Balkan, Slavic, and Oriental Studies.
He holds a B.A. in Political Science and History from Panteion University and an M.A. in Diplomacy from the University of Reading’s Graduate Institute of Political and International Studies. He has published widely in peer-reviewed journals and the press. His books include Modern Greece Revisited: A Study in International Relations and Foreign Policy, Orthodox American: Archbishop Iakovos of North and South America in Greek-American Relations (1959-1996), and The Revolution of 1821 and Modern Greece (editor), as well as the poetry collection Margaron.
