Foteini KOULOURI

Dr. Foteini Koulouri was reselected through the ASEP as Director General of Public Health and Quality of Life at the Ministry of Health, a position she has held since 2022. She is an Administrative Scientist and Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of the Aegean. She holds a PhD in Political Science and Public Administration from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, as well as two Master’s degrees in Administrative Science and in European Politics and Governance .Her academic background also includes studies in Humanities and European Studies and graduation from a Higher Professional School of Journalism.
With more than twenty-three years of experience in senior public sector positions, she has served in the fields of public health, primary health care, mental health, addiction policy and social welfare, including as Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Migration and Asylum, Deputy Hospital Administrator and Acting Director General, Director, Head of Units.
She has participated in numerous European and international initiatives and has collaborated extensively with the World Health Organization as national focal point in thematic areas including mental health, tobacco control and healthy ageing. She has delivered lectures and authored publications on public health policy and health administration. She is fluent in English and has a good command of French.
